The same reeds I make to be sold by Midwest Musical Imports, Ushi reeds are made to a predetermined standard, rather than being adjusted for individual preferences. Tied on Chiarugi brass staples, these reeds are made to be on the lighter side, with easy access to the full range of the oboe. Since they’re named after my cat (whose name is Japanese for “cow”… or “beef”), all Ushi reeds are tied with thread that matches her adorable coat, eyes, or nose.
Ushi reeds are made-to-order like my other reeds, so please allow 3-5 days for them to be made before shipping. That said, since I maintain a regular schedule of making them for MMI, orders of Ushi reeds will often be ready to ship sooner than that.
